IMITATION ELECTRIC PIANO - IMITATION ELECTRIC PIANO

Imitation Electric Piano was formed in 1999 by Stereolab bassist Simon Johns and Andrew Blake (Felt, Mexico 70). They recorded their eponymous first record (DS45-CDF27) for 250 pounds, and the second record, Trinity Neon (DS45-CD33), for even less. They've been through many line-ups, including Ash Marlowe (Charlottefield), Dominic Jeffery (Stereolab), and David Campbell (I'm Being Good) but are now fairly happy with this one for a bit. A whole album of new songs has been completed and is nearly due for release sometime. Also in the pipeline is another album of completely new songs, due for release sometime after the previous one. Upcoming concerts include a show at some stage and another one at some other point in the future. Currently the band are frightfully busy.
